Temple Ewell Baptist Church
A church of Christ exists whenever converted people gather in Jesus' name under His word and led by His Spirit. My ministry gladly accepts the call to participate in the Holy Spirit's work of making disciples for Jesus: teaching and encouraging one another to truly follow Our Lord Jesus. We seek to encourage people to join home groups for fellowship, prayer, bible study and worship.
The calling of the Pastor/Teacher is to lead the flock to loving obedience to the whole counsel of God in scripture so that our lives and relationships reflect the Lordship of Jesus our Saviour.
Church membership is all about committing oneself to active discipleship and service in a local church - seeking God's will in scripture and gladly following and growing together as God's people.
'The church exists by mission as a fire exists by burning' (Brunner). My ministry has been centered on proclamation, discipleship and mission enablement. We are committed to courses such as ALPHA, and 'Open Air Campaigners' on the streets of Dover.
Worship is about glorifying God and delighting in our Saviour. In worship we aim for a Spirit - led wholehearted engagement with the living God - blending new and classic songs/hymns and forms. Prayer is at the heart of the life of a disciple - being with Our Lord Jesus, exulting in Him, listening to Him, following Him. I believe the Church prayer meeting is the engine room of church life.
Our vision of church under God's word and Spirit - led, embraces all age groups, families and single people, and people from every background and culture. We are also keen to encourage and support those with disabilities and special needs.
